Toles

TOLES stands for Test of Legal English Skills.  The programme consists of a structured course of legal English training materials supported by three levels of professional exams –each of which is a step towards reaching the standard of legal English required by employers such as top international law firms, in-house legal teams and private companies. 

The three levels are:

  • FOUNDATION – Level 1 legal English exam, which is suitable for beginner level.  The focus is on basic grammar and vocabulary, encouraging commercial awareness.
  • HIGHER – Level 2 legal English exam, which is suitable for intermediate level.  The focus is on intermediate grammar and vocabulary.
  • ADVANCED – Level 3 legal English exam, which is suitable for advanced level.  The focus is on near-native level grammar and vocabulary.

TOLES materials and exams have been developed following the advice of experienced commercial lawyers.

At Private Institute of Law we offer TOLES tuition on a one-to-one basis.
